Otter and Ferret Mini-Fest: Prompts and Submission Instructions

Otter and Ferret Mini-Fest is here! No sign-ups are needed, prompts can be filled multiple times and the fest is anonymous.

Also, exchange participants can fill their own sign-up prompts. If you're filling your own prompt and think that your prompt can be identified or just want to throw people off the trail, go ahead and gift your fic to yourself! (AO3 will let you enter your own username into the "Gift this work to" box).

1. Go to the list of exchange requests at Archive of Our Own, and check out the post of pinch-hitter prompts.

How to Submit

1. Make sure your work is 999 words or less!


2. Log in to Archive of Our Own (AO3).


3. Go to Otter and Ferret Mini-Fest.


4. Press "Post to collection".


5. Fill out the form. When you come to "Associations" and the "Gift this work to" box, type in the AO3 username of the prompter (the person who wrote the prompt).


6. Finish filling out the form and post the work!

My work is 1,000 words or more! What should I do?

Submit it to Otter and Ferret Forever! Otter and Ferret Forever collects works that were written in response to an Otter and Ferret prompt. Basically, if it doesn't go in the Otter and Ferret exchange or Otter and Ferret Mini-Fest, it goes in Otter and Ferret Forever! The collection opens on April 17, 2012 and closes on January 14, 2013.

1. Log in to Archive of Our Own (AO3).


2. Go to Otter and Ferret Forever.


3. Press "Post to collection".


4. Fill out the form. When you come to "Associations" and the "Gift this work to" box, type in the AO3 username of the prompter (the person who wrote the prompt).


5. Finish filling out the form and post the work!

Otter and Ferret Forever works will be revealed on May 5th, along with the author reveals for the Otter and Ferret exchange and Otter and Ferret Mini-Fest.
