Otter and Ferret Needs Pinch-hitters!

The default deadline has come and gone, and so it is time to call for pinch-hitters! If you're interested in pinch-hitting, here's the relevant information from the main FAQ:

"I'd like to participate in Otter and Ferret as a pinch-hitter. What should I do?

1. Make sure you have an AO3 account or request one at the request post, so that you can post your finished pinch-hit to the collection.
2. Sign-up for the pinch-hitter mailing list.

3. If you claim a pinch-hit assignment, be sure that you can deliver it in time. While pinch-hitters can default, since life happens, and there are no penalties for pinch-hitters defaulting, it's preferable that this not occur."

Pinch-hit assignments will be sent out via that mailing list, and claiming of pinch-hit assignments is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Currently, pinch-hit assignments are due on April 24th.

Pinch-hits must meet the original criteria of the exchange, namely "you must produce an original to the exchange, non-WIP story of at least 1,000 words which incorporates at least one of your recipient's prompts, and submit it to the Otter and Ferret collection by the submission deadline." The FAQ and this post with assignment requirement clarification may be helpful to you.

I just want to check something.Is this for people that have let you know they are dropping out? I have the deadline as the 16th and am working on my piece. I checked AO3 and that says the same so...I'm not late right? * confused *

Yes, this post is to find pinch-hitters to replace the people who have let me know that they are dropping out! :)

April 5th was the penalty-free deadline for people to let me know that they were dropping out. Dropping out after April 5th incurs a penalty (but not a ban, as long as they default using the AO3 default button).

You're not late at all! As a regular exchange participant, the deadline for fic submission is April 16th. :)

There's only one pinch-hit which has yet gone unclaimed, so there's no absolutely dire need! :)

It's mostly tomorrow that I'm keeping an eye on, as I won't know the final number of defaults until tomorrow morning. If there are further pinch-hits needed, I'll send out the pinch-hit notices ASAP on the mailing-list because there won't be much time left.

So,feel free to join the pinch-hitter mailing list if you're interested in writing a pinch-hit, since the notices will go out there once I see what happens between today and tomorrow. :)
